Learn to cook,in Paris, with a chef

Here, there's no demonstration you watch with your arms crossed. You put on an apron, get your hands in the mix, and learn the real gestures, the ones that stick. All of it in an art gallery in the 11th, alongside chef Yannick Leclerc and his brigade. We cook, we learn, we sit down to eat. And you leave with the recipes.

How it works

You arrive, you cook, you sit down

You arrive

You push the door open

A quiet street in the 11th, a door you'd never suspect. Behind it: an art gallery, works on the walls, soft light. We welcome you, and after a few words about the exhibiting artist, we hand you an apron. Already, it smells good.

You cook

You get hands-on

Down to the kitchen: two large islands, induction hobs, ovens, professional knives and tools. The chef guides you step by step through each recipe. You taste as you go, adjust, laugh. Whatever your level, we're with you at every stage.

You sit down

You feast

Back in the art gallery, turned into a private dining room for the occasion, you settle in among the works and enjoy the dishes you've made, over a good bottle of wine. And before you leave, the recipe is yours.

Who are these classes for?

Think you can't cook? Perfect. We love that.

All our classes are built for every level. If you're a beginner, you're exactly where you belong. Come as a couple (a genuinely great first-date idea), with friends, for a hen or stag do, a birthday, or just for the joy of learning. You leave with new chef's techniques, and the urge to do it all again.

Every level

Beginners welcome. We start where you are.

Everything's included

Apron, ingredients, the meal, and the recipe to take home.

A chef who's got you

to guide you throughout the cooking class.

the kitchen

The place

A contemporary art gallery, a real chef's kitchen

A contemporary art gallery upstairs, a professional kitchen below: the only place in Paris to bring the two together. We cook the day's recipes together, then head back up to enjoy our creations in the gallery, among the works.

And the art isn't a backdrop: real works, real contemporary artists, soft light and space. The exhibitions rotate, so the place is never quite the same twice.

Portrait of chef Yannick Leclerc, cooking classes in the gallery of Le 3ème Cercle, Paris 11

The chef · 35 years learning, then passing it on

Yannick Leclerc, trained in the finest Parisian houses

Yannick learned his craft where mistakes aren't allowed: the finest Parisian houses, Le Taillevent, Lucas Carton, the Saint James, La Maison Blanche. That's where he learned rigour, true taste, the precise gesture. Thirty-five years of cooking, from the heat of the brigade to the finest tables.

Then he chose to pass it on: a trainer of chefs at the École Ducasse, one of the world's leading culinary schools. Teaching chefs to become chefs: that's where he found his true calling, and it's exactly what he does with you.

He's the one who hands you an apron, guides you and shares his know-how. Depending on the class, it's him or one of his brigade chefs who accompanies you.
